Oh my! Last week I recieved my HTC Desire that I’d been waiting almost 6 weeks for. So when I finally got it I was thrilled to check it out and test it. I was pretty disappointed when I found out that niether Wifi or Bluetooth were working. I kept getting errors that Wifi couldn’t be started and when trying to enable Bluetooth nothing at all happened. So I phoned the company (tre) that I’d ordered it from and asked them what the hell I should do and I was so angry that we decided they I should send it back and get a HTC Legend instead. Fine…
Well it’s pretty much a downgrade (IMO) to go from the desire with 1ghz processor to the Legend with 500-600Mhz. So I couldn’t really let it go, everything was working except for the bloody Wifi and Bluetooth which I really wanted working. I started to look around for stock ROMS on the net that I could flash it with if there were something at the factory that had gone wrong with the radio. I found this page at theunlockr.com, that has a very good explanation on how to unroot the HTC Desire and that was basicly what I wanted to do with my phone. It was super easy to apply the HTC Desire RUU ROM with the use of HTC Sync, you just need to find the correct one, mine was this one.
Big thanks to theunlockr.com, forum.xda-developers.com and shipped-roms.com for saving my day.
